Job Description:
Description ASN Constructors is a joint venture of three
international contractors (Acciona, Shikun & Binui and North
American Construction Group) who work with the Metro Flood
Diversion Authority and other area stakeholders to build a historic
project that will protect the citizens of the Fargo-Moorhead area
from flood waters from the Red River. We will provide value to our

The Structures Superintendent actively participates in, and
coordinates work related to entire bridge construction on a
design-build projects, supervises the field crew and
subcontractors, and is responsible for the completion of all
projects in a safe and timely manner while utilizing the highest
quality of workmanship.
Responsibilities
- Forecasts and pre-plans all upcoming work, including but not
limited to subcontractors, work restrictions, events, etc. to
develop best means and methods, including safety action plans, and
communicates this to the Bridges Manager and foremen.
- Plans the day-to-day operations on assigned project and ensures
that proper resources are in place for the timely completion of
work, including labor, tools, equipment, and material.
- Reviews all Plans, Specifications, RFIs, and other project
documentation, and plans to ensure that the work in the field is
built to the most recent plans and specifications.
- Ensures crews are working safely, diligently, and to the
Project's quality standards.
- Coordinates upcoming work, trucking requirements, material
supply, equipment necessities and shop maintenance and
subcontractors as required.
- Drive short-term schedule (3-week look ahead) and tie back to
milestones.
- Routinely working with the Bridges Manager to identify and
capture all changes, such as different site conditions, delays
beyond our control, quantity over/under runs, and other potential
job impacts.
- Takes responsibility for crew performance as it relates to
company goals, safety audits, and company policies and
procedures.
- Initiates follow-up action as necessary, including training,
orientation, discipline, etc.
- Conducts daily briefing with crew to review production goals,
performance feedback, safety and schedule, and hazards and to
solicit input from the workers.
- Always maintains a dedication to safety by modeling, providing
education, and enforcing safe work practices as well as company
policies and procedures.
- Ensure the proper safety equipment is available and used by all
field personnel.
- Communicates with sub-contractors as necessary to coordinate
work, goals, etc.
Experience/Qualifications:
- 5 years as a superintendent in civil bridge/concrete
infrastructure construction is required.
- Knowledge of HCSS/HeavyJob preferred.
- Experience with installing bridge girders, setting up bridge
deck machines, steel and concrete diaphragms, and Borg System
knowledge preferred.
- Ability to read and understand project specific documents
including schedules, plans, and specifications.
- Ability to oversee the work of others and clearly communicate
instructions to crew.
- Thorough knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety
precautions of the work being performed.
- Ability to understand and expertly carry out instructions.
- Ability to keep records and to prepare production reports,
timesheets, equipment logs, inspection reports, change orders, and
updating project files.
- Ability to perform other administrative and/or project-based
duties as assigned.
- Must have a valid Driver's License Requirements Work
Environment:
- This position is both outdoors and indoors
- This work environment may involve minimal to moderate exposure
to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust,
fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors and/or loud noises
- Exposure to moving mechanical parts
- Noise levels in the outdoor work environment is usually
loud
- Ability to wear and work in personnel protective equipment
including but not limited to hard hat, safety glasses, gloves,
ankle-supporting safety-toed work boots and a safety vest. Physical
