Job Description:
A company is looking for a Coder to assign accurate medical
codes for diagnoses and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Assign ICD-CM/PCS & CPT/HCPCS codes to diagnoses and procedures for
various encounters
Ensure compliance with coding guidelines and abstract necessary
information for statistical and reimbursement purposes
Collaborate with revenue cycle team members to facilitate
appropriate billing and reimbursement
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
Completion of a college-level course in medical terminology
Must obtain one of the following certifications within 1 year:
RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCA, or CPC
Basic knowledge of ICD-CM/PCS and CPT coding guidelines
Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy/physiology, and hospital
procedures
