Sanford Ambulance - Fargo, has been providing world-class
pre-hospital care to the community that we love. Who is Sanford
Ambulance? We are a 9-1-1 ambulance service that handles
approximately 35,000 calls for service annually in the Fargo,
Moorhead, and West Fargo metro area, as well as portions of Cass
County, ND and Clay County, MN. Sanford Ambulance deploys
ambulances throughout the communities that we serve, utilizing
Computer Aided Dispatch software that incorporates Automatic
Vehicle Location (AVL) data and GPS. This technology, combined with
Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD) protocols insure that the quickest
available unit and appropriate resources are dispatched to every
emergency. In addition, we are:

of all, we have fun together. Typical scheduling practices are
12-hour work shifts and a 4 day-on / 4 day-off rotation. Shift bids
are completed twice annually based on employee seniority for actual
shift start times. Depending operational scheduling needs, shifts
may include: days, mid-days, nights, weekends, and holidays. NO
scheduled on-call time required! Uniforms and continuing education
are provided at no cost to the employee. Job Summary Paramedics are
responsible for responding to requests for emergency medical
services and provide both Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced
Life Support (ALS) care, as appropriate. Paramedics must
demonstrate competency in delivering excellent care to sick and
injured patients (adults/children/infants) and possess the
knowledge and the necessary skills to provide lifesaving
interventions in a pre-hospital setting, both on-scene as well as
during transport to a hospital Emergency Department (based on
protocols or physician medical direction). Maintain an active
knowledge of, and perform within, all relevant statutes,
regulations, policies, procedures and standards. Foster a culture
of safety, continuous improvement, efficiency, and innovative
thinking. Respond to all dispatched requests for services in a safe
and efficient manner. Consistently demonstrate safe practices while
preventing harm to patients, families, employees, and themselves.
Provide patient education appropriate to the developmental level,
learning needs, cultural values, and beliefs of patients and their
families. Provide appropriate assessment and treatment utilizing
established patient care guidelines/protocols that assure the
highest level of care and safety at all times. Accurately document
patient information in EHR in accordance with established standards
and department policies/procedures. Cooperate with, assist, and
give direction to additional responding agencies as needed.
Accurately report patient history, condition, and any
treatment/response to treatment provided upon arrival to the care
team at the Emergency Department. Demonstrate respect and regard
for the dignity of all patients, families, students, visitors, and
fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible, and
courteous environment with a strong emphasis on customer service.
Maintain standards related to ambulance cleanliness and sanitation
procedures before and after any patient transport. Function
effectively in assigned role utilizing the company's disaster
response plan. Attend and complete all required company training
sessions and maintain continuing education requirements set by the
company or licensing agencies. Maintain clear communication with
patients, comfort and reassure patients, and demonstrate empathy
while maintaining confidentiality of the patient's information.
Provide welcoming and educational environment for students and
complete any academic assessments in a timely manner. Physical
activities include but are not limited to: Considerable use of arms
and legs and moving of whole body, such as: climbing, lifting,
balancing, walking, stooping and handling materials. Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required. Must have a thorough
knowledge of paramedic principles, practices and techniques,
knowledge of how various equipment such as a monitor or
defibrillator work and how to troubleshoot problems that may arise.
Active Paramedic certification with NREMT by the time of hire.
Requires current Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life
Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
certification. Requires ability to be licensed as a Paramedic in
both ND (ND Department of Health) and MN (Emergency Medical
Services Regulatory Board). This will be obtained with company
assistance upon acceptance of job offer. Must maintain current
driver's license and exceptional driving record for purposes of
insurability. Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check will be completed
annually. Previous Paramedic experience preferred. Benefits Sanford
