Job Title: Registered Nurse - Operating Room Job Specialty: Operating Room Nursing Job Duration: 13-week assignment Shift: Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM, plus on-call duties every fourth week Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Registered Nurse license from the North Dakota Board of Nursing or a Compact State Agreement Certifications: - Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association, to be completed within 90 days of start date Must-Have: - Background in a rural setting - Additional skills in performing colonoscopy, C-sections, and cataracts Job Description: - Provide direct nursing care following established policies, procedures, and protocols. - Maintain the necessary knowledge and skills to provide age-appropriate care to patients. - Facilitate patient care coordination within the interdisciplinary team. - Perform daily rounds on all patients, ensuring quality customer service and addressing unmet requirements. - Develop a comprehensive plan of care based on patient assessments reflecting physical, psychological, social, educational, developmental, and rehabilitative needs. - Assess, intervene, and reassess patient pain symptoms and take appropriate action. - Identify early warning signs of changes in a patient's condition and respond appropriately. - Assist with or initiate emergency measures for adverse developments in patient conditions. - Report and document pertinent observations and reactions regarding patients accurately. - Establish and maintain communication with patients and significant individuals, providing education and counseling to optimize understanding. - Evaluate and document according to standard procedures. - Assign or delegate responsibilities for nursing interventions appropriately within the scope of practice. - Perform other duties as assigned to meet departmental and organizational needs.
