General job duties. Types of procedures required.
Setting up and performing scheduled and emergent cesareans,
postpartum tubal ligations, D &C & laceration repairs,
occasional cerclages, IUBT, hysterectomy
Setting up and assisting with vaginal twin deliveries, stocking &
stripping rooms, cleaning OR between cases, bring specimens to lab,
help move patients, assist where needed on unit
Equipment utilized in the unit/dept.
Minimal Epic Use, cautery, suction
Required skills and minimum years of experience.
OB experience preferred, 2 years surgical tech experience, be
trained to first assist during surgical (directly assisting the
doctor during cesarean sections)
Specific licensures and certifications/registrations required.
UAP required (unlicensed assistive personnel). BLS - AHA
Shift or schedule requirements.
8 hour shifts, 0 Monday through Friday, potential weekends
Floating to over units/departments.
No floating, may help support postpartum at times (hearing screens,
moving patients, etc..)
Bed size/number of rooms for this unit/dept.
52 bed labor & delivery/postpartum unit
Dress Code:
Hospital scrubs provided for each shift
Tell us about the unit/department specific training and orientation
program.
Will get orientation to the unit, including scheduled cesareans,
deliveries. Expectations in the role.
Additional Comments:
Fast-paced 52 bed unit that has just under 3000 deliveries/year. 20
labor/antepartum beds, 2 ORs, 3-bay PACU, 4 triage rooms, 32
